Mark Sparks was a candidate for Position 7 representative on the Rogers School District school board in Arkansas. Sparks withdrew his candidacy in the by-district general election in late August 2016, but his name still appeared on the ballot.

Two of the seven seats on the Rogers School District school board were up for general election on September 20, 2016. In the race for at-large Position 6, candidate Mitch Lockhart defeated fellow candidates Caley Vo and Bob White. Nathan Gairhan won the by-district Position 7 seat. Candidate Mark Sparks filed in the race but withdrew in late August 2016, leaving Gairhan to run unopposed. Because of his late withdrawal, Sparks' name still appeared on the ballot.[1][2]
