I am a wife and mother. I have worked hard my entire life to help provide for my family. I was born in Harrison, Arkansas. My father was a career Army person and I am a proud Army Brat. I spent my youth traveling the world getting to meet people and experiencing different cultures. Arkansas has always been home. I worked within the Hospitality business for over 25 years from housekeeping in Eureka Springs to management within the casino industry in the Tri-State area.
Equality is important to me. I feel that everyone should be able to have the opportunity to live a good life. We should not have to worry that our government makes laws against its peoples. We should have equal pay, laws against discrimination, and renters rights. Healthcare for all is important to me. We should not have to decide what health issues we can afford to take care of that year.
I look up to the women in my life. Not only have I been inspired by women through history, but, the people in my life today. My mother was the first female influence in my life but there have been many others from teachers to friends. People who encourage those around them to live a good life and be a good person inspire me.
I think that our elected officials should listen to the people and understand them. I want to speak for everyone not just the loudest. We need someone who is willing to stand up for what is right even if their party is doing something wrong. We need honestly and stop misinformation when it starts.
I am able to see the whole picture. Our actions and what we say have consequences. I believe is hearing what people have to say. There has got to be middle ground where we can all live a good life without hate and discrimination.
I would like to leave this world a better place.
I lived in Germany during the 80's. I remember the Wall separating East and West. I was a teenager when the Wall came down and the Cold War finally ended.
The first job that I had (not babysitting) was at a mall during Christmas time. I ran the automated Christmas bears that would sing and speak to people. I was 15 years old.
It is one of the checks and balances that we have in place so that we insure Democracy continues.
Misinformation is what is challenging us right now. We have witnessed misinformation and what it is doing to our Democracy. We need people who are willing to listen to the truth no matter how hard it is to take.
We have to hear and listen to what people say. I try to make a point to thank our veterans who served. I thanked someone one day and he told me that no one had ever thanked him before. I was taken aback that someone who served our country and gave his life to it was never thanked. I hear farmers struggling to keep their heads above water so they don't loose the farm. We are elected by the people and need to listen to what they have to say.
Absolutely! We must and have to work together in order to improve peoples lives. We are all different but have the same goals to live a good life.
