Campaign website

Winkler's campaign website stated the following:

WHILE MUCH HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED, THERE IS MORE TO GO.

  • Continue to invest in Public Safety, including improving recruitment and retention to get our force strength back above 1,200 officers, community-based anti-violence initiatives, and youth programming
  • Continue investments in community infrastructure including our parks, libraries, paving, sidewalks and streetscapes
  • Increase focus on homelessness/panhandling reduction through the expansion of shelter-to-housing initiatives and continued funding of the ‘Another Way’ day work program
  • Future proof our workforce through investments in training and education
  • Build upon recent economic development wins including GE Appliances North American Headquarters, Foxconn Technology Corp, Stellar Snacks and many others
  • Build on initial partnerships with JCPS, focusing on public safety information sharing and identifying ways to utilize schools to deliver community services such as adult education programs
  • Deliver improvements in the re-zoning process to ensure traffic and drainage capacity constraints are given higher importance prior to the approval of new projects
