Marlene L. Budd was a judge for the Suffolk County Family Court in New York. She joined the court in 2006, following her election. She was defeated in her bid for re-election in 2015 and stepped down when her term ended in January 2016.[1]

Education

Budd attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook for her Bachelor of Arts degree and the University of Baltimore for her J.D. She went on to earn her LL.M. from the Columbia University School of Law in 1990.[2][3]

Career

Budd began her career in 1990 working for the Law Offices of Lee R. Pearlman. She practiced with the law firms of Payne, Wood and Littlejohn from 1992 to 1995, Billhimer & Budd from 1995 to 1996, and Thomas L. Costa, LLP from 1996 to 1997. She then opened her own law firm, the Law Offices of Marlene L. Budd, where she worked until 2005. In 2006, she joined the family court bench.[2]
