Marquita Bushrod is a passionate, self-motivated woman of God, a wife, a mother and a driving force that is ready to work for the people of Charles County, Maryland. I am a free thinker that holds true to my convictions and moral compass in all aspects of life. I am a firm believer in doing what I say I will do, and I intend to uphold this responsibility when elected, to work for the people, as State Delegate in Maryland's District 28.
  • Like so many others my husband and I saw the potential in this amazing county and chose to raise our family here. For this reason, I am fully vested and passionate about the direction and future success of Charles County. I see the potential and want to make sure the sense of community that this county was built on never dissipates.
  • A vote for me is a vote for Charles County and the voices of those who reside is Charles County. As Delegate I will work for the residents and not for my own self interests. I will go into the communities to seek the needs of those in this county and will work diligently to create solutions. I will work across the aisle as my focus will be on working together regardless of varying political stances. The people of Charles County will always come first.
  • Charles County is a hidden gem, and its full potential has not been realized. Its rich history is a great example of its potential for success in the future. I want to help realize that potential by making sure that families, young adults veterans and our elderly populations can thrive is a county that offers amenities and an economy for business owners to thrive.
I am passionate about supporting our schools while ensuring they are transparent and accountable. I believe that when these standards are not meet parents have the right to choose the best educational option to meet the needs for their families.

I am passionate about supporting small businesses and providing them with resources and infrastructure. While several areas of the county are built up, other areas have growing populations and lack necessary amenities. There are a number of struggling businesses. A focus on agrotourism could change that thus making Charles County a place that people drive to vs a county that people drive through.

I am passionate about the residents of this county. In a time of rising costs residents are being nickeled and dimed with a gas tax that was recently increased. This is happening in a county that lacks running water in some areas. We need to level the playing field and put the residents of this county first. In addition, we need to offer resources for our youth, elderly, veterans and the mentally ill.
