Marsha Bergan was a judge of the Sixth District of Iowa. She was appointed to this position in 2007.[1] She was retained in 2014 for a term that would have expired on December 31, 2020.[2] She retired in September 2017.[3]

Bergan was retained to the 6th District with 75.8 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2] 

Education

Bergan graduated from Luther College with a bachelor's degree in 1973. She went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1977.[1]

Career

Bergan began her career working for Legal Services Corporation and was later the co-managing attorney of the Iowa City Legal Aid office. She then worked as a private practice lawyer in Iowa City for 25 years. For 18 years of this time, beginning in 1988, she also served District Six as a Jackson County magistrate judge. She has also worked as a substitute hospitalization referee.[1]
