Marsha L. Steinhardt was a justice of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Department. She was appointed to this position in 2008 and served the 2nd and 11th Judicial Districts. She has also served on the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term (2nd Judicial District) since 1995. She was re-elected in 2009.[1][2]

Education

Steinhardt received a B.A. degree from the City University of New York at Brooklyn College in 1969, then a J.D. degree from the Brooklyn School of Law in 1972.[1]

Career

Steinhardt began her career in 1972 as an attorney for the New York City Transit Authority. She then worked as the law secretary to a Civil Court judge from 1986 to 1989. In 1989 and 1990, she was the principal law clerk to a Supreme Court Justice.

Steinhardt began her judicial career in 1991 when he was elected to the New York City Civil Court of Kings County. In 1995, she was elected to the Supreme Court. Steinhardt was appointed to the Appellate Division in 2008.[1]
