Marta Perez
Marta Pérez was a member of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools school board in Florida, representing District 8. Pérez assumed office in 1998. Pérez left office on November 22, 2022.
Pérez ran for re-election to the Miami-Dade County Public Schools school board to represent District 8 in Florida. Pérez lost in the primary on August 23, 2022.
Biography
Perez earned a Ph.D. in education from the University of Miami. She also holds a J.D. from St. Thomas University. Perez taught at district schools prior to her retirement.[1]

Incumbent Marta Perez was unopposed in the election for District 8 on the Miami-Dade County school board. Since only one candidate filed, the election was canceled and did not appear on the ballot.
2014
The August 26, 2014 general election in Miami-Dade County featured four seats up for election. District 4 incumbent Perla Tabares Hantman defeated challenger Duysevi "Sevi" Miyar in the general election. Marta Perez won re-election to the District 8 seat against newcomer Lawrence "Larry" Orihuela. Incumbents Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall and Raquel A. Regalado won re-election without opposition in Districts 2 and 6, respectively.

Perez received the endorsement of United Teachers of Dane prior to the election.[3]

Perez ran unopposed and won re-election without appearing on the ballot in 2010. She previously ran unopposed for re-election in 2002 and 2006.[1]
