Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Martec (pronounced Mar-teece) Washington 33, was born and raised in Charleston, WV. A longtime “West Side” resident, Washington has been active in the community since he was 9 when he fought for a playground at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club. He has been a community and youth advocate, using his voice to help others and make a change. He has been featured on Fitness Video games such as Zumba 2, he also formed “Tec Style Hip Hop Fitness” where he donates time and love to the community. He graduated from Capital High school in 2006 and through Charleston Area Performance Academy worked with the Department of Justice on the “Hard Time For Gun Crime Campaign '', and was a part of the award-winning Capital High “VIP’s”. In short, Mr. Washington is a hard-working, talented young man with a heart of gold who goes above and beyond to help others in his beloved city.

• Addressing Homeless, Opioid, HIV, and mental health issues that plague the city.
• Protecting our youth
• Correcting policing in the city.

The people of Charleston, our Veterans, the youth, the police department, and infrastructure.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

First job Ever was CVS 2 years.
