Martha Ann Lott
Martha Ann Lott was a chief judge for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She has served as chief judge from July 1, 2009. She first joined the court in 1997 and served until her retirement on May 31, 2013.[1][2][3][4]
Biography and Education
Lott was born in Louisville, KY on February 10, 1953. She received her B.A. degree (in Psychology) from the University of Florida in 1974 and her J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1981. She later taught at the latter.[2][5]
Career
Lott began her career in 1981 as an associate of Theodore M. Burt. Later that year, she became an Assistant Public Defender in the 8th Judicial Circuit. She then worked from 1986 to 1990 as a sole practitioner. She became a County Court judge in 1991 and then a Circuit Court judge in 1997. After her retirement from the bench, she became Of Counsel with Fine, Farkash and Parlapiano, P.A.[2][5][6]
