I am currently a high school math teacher and math department chair for Livonia Public Schools. So, as you can imagine I will be a fierce advocate in fighting for policies that improve Michigan's education system. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked as a corporate buyer for Marshall Field's, Dayton-Hudson, and Montgomery Ward's so in addition to my education experience I also have a strong business and finance background. I have been a Livonia resident for over 40 years and believe in common sense leadership, lower taxes, and more freedom.
I am often asked why I am running to be Livonia's state representative. Campaigns and elections are about the future and we need to make sure that Livonia and the state of Michigan are vibrant and growing so that our children are able to raise their families here. As a high school math teacher, I believe that this only this only happens if Michigan has high quality schools in all of our communities. When our schools thrive, our communities thrive because great schools attract families to our communities. We need to be focused on what is best for all of our children, all of Michigan's students deserve a top notch education and I intend to work hard to make that a reality.

As an educator, I am supportive of expanding skilled trade opportunities for our younger citizens. I am a strong proponent of providing education at the K-12 level regarding technical and vocational training.

I will also work to ensure that we build an economy that keeps our kids right here in Michigan by attracting world-class talent and investment in our automotive, manufacturing, and technological sectors. I will stand up and fight back against higher taxes and bigger government to ensure that Michigan is the #1 state to do business in.
I have integrity and I am dedicated to representing the people of Livonia. I will look at all issues brought before me with a common sense approach and will make thoughtful decisions.
Holding public office means that you are responsible to serve all of the people that live in your district. It is a challenge but also an important responsibility to work with everyone not only the ones that voted for you or share your same views as you on all of the issues.
The first historical event that I remember was the shooting of President Ronald Reagan in 1981. I was 13 years old at the time and I just could not believe that someone was able to attack our President. I had always heard the stories about the assassination of President Kennedy from my parents and grandparents and the impact that it had on the country. It seemed for a time that this was going to be another presidential assassination but President Reagan was stronger than the average 70 year old and came back strong.
In high school, I worked as a cashier and a stock person at a local Livonia hardware store. I worked at the store until I left for college. I learned how to work with customers, mix paint, cut keys, organize inventory and most importantly manage my time. The store has changed ownership since then but I still feel grateful and nostalgic when I enter the building.
Atomic Habits - it reminds me that I can improve every day just by doing something small or creating a new habit.
No necessarily, I am a high school math teacher and prior to becoming a teacher worked as a corporate buyer. I think my experience in education as well as business and finance will allow me to bring tremendous knowledge to the legislature.
We need to make sure that Michigan has a strong economy with jobs and opportunities for everyone. This will be very challenging after the hit our economy has taken during the Corona virus pandemic.
Governors and the state legislature need to work together in a spirit of cooperation. Developing a good relationship regardless of political party should be of the utmost importance.
Not at this time, I am focused on representing Livonia as their next state representative
