Martha Walsh Hood

Martha Walsh Hood is the supervising judge for the Family Courts of the 5th Judicial District in New York. She was appointed to this position in January of 2010. She has served on the Onondaga County Family Court since 2000 and was elected to a full term the following year. She has also served as an Acting Justice of the Onondaga County Supreme Court since January of 2003, when she was appointed.[1][2]
Education
Hood received her J.D. degree from the Syracuse University School of Law in 1979.[1][2]
Career
Hood worked from 1983 to 1990 as a senior attorney for the Frank H. Hiscock Legal Aid Society. She then worked as a private practice lawyer for the next ten years until her judicial appointment. She also served as an Onondaga County Legislator from 1996 to 2000. In 2000, she joined the Family Court. She was appointed an Acting Supreme Court Justice in 2003 and a Supervising Judge for the 5th District Family Courts in 2010.[1]
