Martin Grohman
Martin Grohman is an officeholder of the Biddeford Schools, At-large in Maine.
Grohman (independent) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Maine's 1st Congressional District. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Grohman is a former independent member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 12 from 2014 to 2018.
Biography
Grohman earned his B.S. in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1989.[1]
Professionally, Grohman works as the director of sustainability at GAF. He is also the founder and owner of his own business, CorrectDeck. Additionally, Grohman was the chair of the Biddeford Solid Waste Commission and a board member of EnvisionMaine.org.[1]
Party switch
On September 22, 2017, Grohman switched his party affiliation from Democratic to independent. He dropped his party affiliation because he believed he could be a more effective legislator as an independent.[2]

Elections for the Maine House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 10, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for party candidates wishing to run in this election was March 17, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the primary election was April 28, 2014, and the deadline for non-party candidates to run in the general election was June 2, 2014. The deadline for write-in candidates to run in the general election was September 22, 2014. Martin Grohman was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
