Martin J. Gaughan
Martin J. Gaughan was a judge for the First Judicial Circuit, which presides over Brooke, Ohio, and Hancock counties in West Virginia.[1] He was appointed to the court by former Democratic Governor Gaston Caperton on April 7, 1995, and was elected to the court in 1996.[2][3]
Gaughan retired from the bench on June 30, 2015.[4]
Education
Gaughan received his undergraduate degree from West Liberty State College and both his master's degree and J.D. from Duquesne University.[5]
Career
Before he became a judge, Gaughan practiced law in West Virginia for over twenty years.[3]
