As a mom of a 7-year-old, Martina wants what all Kentuckians want: a safe, inclusive community with a quality educational system and opportunity to thrive. She says, "A community that embraces all Kentuckians is the one that I want to nurture and build. I envision this for today, for tomorrow, and for years to come. Our state's House of Representatives needs greater representation of people like you and people like me. I have the experience-both personal and professional-to provide that representation, and I would be honored to be your next Kentucky state representative."
Martina will focus her policies on addressing systemic poverty, access to quality healthcare, addressing the opioid epidemic, reducing the prison population, and increasing the minimum wage to a living wage. Martina has an entrepreneurial spirit, and believes in working smart to create policies that reflect data driven results to make meaningful change for Kentuckians.
I look up to my mom, and the many women mentors in my life that uplifted me. They encouraged me every step of the way. And still do.
To serve the people they represent, and to foster an accessible government to their constituents.
My very first job was working at a Fazoli's at the age of 16 years old.
I believe it is important to understand how your government works. However, one does not necessarily have to have experience in government. I have worked in public service before, and will bring that professional experience with me as a candidate.
It is beneficial to build relationships with your colleagues. I have always made it a point to get to know my colleagues, to understand who they are, and what brought them into the work that we do. Building relationships with people is important to me both in my personal and professional life.
