Biography
Marty Hume was born in Youngstown, Ohio. He earned a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University in 1978 and a law degree from Ohio State University, Moritz School of Law in 1981. His career experience includes working as a prosecutor.[1]

He holds memberships in the National District Attorneys Association and the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. He is also a certified instructor for the Ohio Police Officer’s Training Academy.

As a long-time prosecutor, Marty Hume strongly supports law enforcement and opposes the incumbent’s proposal that would prevent local police from cooperating with federal officials in enforcement of federal gun laws. Further, while Marty Hume strongly supports the Second Amendment, including the individual right to bear arms, he disagrees with the incumbent’s proposal to exclude gun and ammunition sales from State sales tax and have Ohio taxpayers pay gun manufacturers’ federal excise taxes.”
