Campaign themes
2017
Holland's campaign website included the following themes:
“ |
Right now, Harlem is under threat. Landlords are trying to gentrify, big chains are pushing out small mom and pop businesses, schools are not getting their fair share, and NYCHA families are being left in harm’s way. But this is our community. And we need someone who will remind everyone of that. Harlem belongs to us, and we need a Council member who lives in Harlem, is one of us, will fight for us, and deliver for us. And I will be that Council member. As a decades-long community organizer, activist and proud union brother, my whole history has been standing up to politicians and powerful interests – including the mayor – and that’s what I’ll do at City Hall.
