The time is right at this stage in my life to give back to my community using the knowledge I have gained over the past 40 years in the aviation industry. Objectives for my first two-year tenure include sharing experiences on living within an established budget and critically evaluating city projects on the basis of costs vs. benefits to be achieved. I want to fully integrate myself with the 11-member city council team and work closely with all city government leaders to properly represent all the residents of my District 5.

I am a first-generation immigrant and so I am fully bi-lingual with English/Spanish. I was also fortunate to have parents help me get some education: FAA-certificated commercial pilot, Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Aviation and finally an MBA in Aviation Management.

I am married also to a fully bi-lingual wife with three grown Millennial sons. No grand kids yet :-(
  • Let's make clean, safe & family-friendly neighborhoods for EVERYONE.
  • Let's work on making public schools state-leading in math/reading comprehension, and also in healthcare and food security opportunities.
  • Let's work on making home ownership a reality for our Fort Worth residents by continuing to attract and grow economic investment in Fort Worth which in turn will improve job security and average income for the Fort Worth household.
I am passionate about helping Fort Worth residents who don't have the means to help themselves. We have great Neighborhood Services in the city of Fort Worth but not everyone knows where to turn for needed help. I am particularly focused on our residents experiencing homelessness. We need to do more quickly guide them to existing city and private services available.
I remember when Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy were shot in 1968. I also remember the first landing on the moon in 1969. I was around seven/eight years old back then.
My first job was a summer job. I rode in a truck and delivered ice cream made at my friend's father's ice cream factory. The pay was better than the twenty-five cents Mom paid me each time I swept the back patio!
When I was a child I read a book about the Wright Brothers. Any book about the Wright Brothers is priceless in driving home the point that persistence and methodical testing will always get you to the right answer.
No prior experience necessary; however, leadership experience is necessary to build community support and to properly represent the city council district within the various departments of the city government.
The greatest impact the city council can have is to ensure the city's zoning policies and programs for further economic development produce great property values allowing proper funding for the police/fire departments, schools, neighborhood services, public hospitals and public schools. We cannot be properly funded if property values are declining.
