Mary-Lynne Bernald is the incumbent Area 5 member of the West Valley-Mission Community College District Board of Trustees in California. Her current term ends on December 13, 2024.

She is running for election after being appointed in March of this year upon the passing of long time Trustee Jack Lucas. Mary-Lynne is on the ballot in the general election on November 5, 2024 for the two year short term. A 46 year resident of Saratoga, Mary-Lynne previously served as a two-term City Council Member and Mayor. She has devoted her years in Saratoga serving the community she loves on a variety of boards, committees, and foundations serving all generations of the population. She is honored to have the endorsements of U.s. Rep Anna Eshoo, Congressional District 16; Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian, District 5;

Assuring public education gets the resources needed to support our schools at every level.
Our world is populated with a treasure load of extraordinary people. On any day, I can find a reason to note what a gift they share. Anyone who is present, thoughtful, caring and dedicated to making their part of the world a better place is or working to overcome their own or others’ challenges is worthy of being emulated.
Integrity and transparency. An elected official is duty bound to represent the people who elected them by following the rules of that body and by openly communicating with the electors so there is mutual understanding of what is expected and what can be achieved.
I am a good listener, a team builder, a do-er. And I bring a solid level of expertise honed by years of volunteering in our greater community.
