Mary Alice Herbert
Mary Alice Herbert was a Liberty Union candidate for secretary of state of Vermont in the 2016 election.[1] She was defeated in the general election on November 8, 2016.
She was also a Liberty Union Party candidate for Vermont Secretary of State in the 2012 elections. She lost both races to incumbent Jim Condos (D).[2]
Biography
Herbert is a retired public school teacher who was 81 years old at the time of the 2016 election. She grew up in North Carolina and taught in Brattleboro. Herbert lives in Putney and has four children with her late husband, Fred.[3]

Lee filed to run as a Liberty Union candidate in the 2016 election for secretary of state of Vermont.[1] She was the only candidate to file for the office apart from incumbent Jim Condos (D). The two competed in the November 8 general election.
