Mary Ann Brown
Mary Ann Brown was the chief judge of Eighth Judicial District of Iowa, serving in 8B. She was first appointed to the district court in September of 2001, and was appointed to the chief judgeship in December 2012 by the Iowa Supreme Court.[1][2] She was retained to the court in 2014.[3] Brown retired from the court on December 31, 2021. [4]
Education
Brown received her bachelor's and J.D. degrees from Drake University in 1981 and 1984, respectively.[1]
Career
Brown began her career in 1985 as a prosecutor for the Des Moines County Attorney's Office. She worked in this position until 1990. She later practiced with the firm of Barren, Schulte, Hahn, Swanson & Brown.[1]

Brown was retained to the 8B District Court with percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]
