Mary Ann Handley is a former Democratic member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 4 from 1997 to 2011.

Handley was on the Manchester Board of Directors from 1987 to 1989 and Deputy Mayor of Manchester from 1991 to 1996.

Biography

Handley attended Wesleyan University, the University of London and University College. She earned her B.A. from Connecticut College and her M.A. from the University of Connecticut. Her professional experience includes working as a Professor of History at Manchester Community College from 1967 to 1997.

On November 4, 2008, Handley won re-election to the 4th District Seat in the Connecticut State Senate, defeating David Blackwell (R).[1]
