Biography
Mary Barthelson was born in Arlington, Virginia. She earned both a bachelor’s and graduate degree from George Mason University in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Barthelson’s career experience includes working as a systems engineer, specializing in security systems.[1]

She will use data collected on housing needs and collaborate with local advocates to ensure community input in planning, staying ahead of changing needs.
- Mary will establish a mobile mental health unit in Reston to improve the response time of emergency mental health services, which are currently operating out of Merrifield.
- Mary will use her expertise as a systems engineer to ensure legislation keeps up with the changing pace of technology whether that be on matters of sustainable energy, stem education, data privacy, or information integrity.
