I am a retired school counselor.

1. My plan is to protect Social Security from cuts, and to make sure the UNFAIR tax cuts that only helped the richest 2%, do not become permanent 2. I will bring back the protections of Roe V. Wade. No 10 y/o should be forced to have a RAPIST'S baby. She will be connected to this criminal for the rest of her life. 3. I will not allow Veteran care to go private, Now Republicans want to close all the VA hospitals, and replace government control. When government agencies go private, the cost goes up and the quality comes down. Look at base housing at Tinker AFB. Now privately managed, they are painting over mold, disturbing Asbestos tiles making for toxic air that is unbreathable. Ant infestations, forever wait lists, etc...

4. I will protect all human rights, voting rights, gay rights, rights for women to control their bodies, stop predatory lenders, fight for a livable wage.
  • Bring back the protections of Roe V. Wade. No 10 y/o should be forced to have a Rapist's baby. It will attach her to the CRIMINAL for the rest of her life.
  • Stop cuts to Social Security, by making the rich pay their FAIR share. Take back the tax cuts that only helped the rich!
  • I will fight for veteran care by resisting Republicans wanting to make it private, out of the governments control. They will close all the VA hospitals, for private care. Care will need to be "approved."
A woman's right to choose. Saving Social Security. Veteran care, keeping VA hospital's for going private.
My parents. They were kind, smart, ethical and wanted what was best for all.
My philosophy can be understood by going to Fb Brannon4Congress, Twitter(X) @electbrannon. Instagram marymbrannon.
She was fair, and always wanted what was best for all.
sold tickets at the local movie theater.
The Notorious RBG. She did so much for women's rights.
My older brother's pain from Agent Orange.
I think ever elected office in Washington should have term limits, especially the Supreme Court.
My brother died a slow painful death, eaten alive by Agent Orange, after 2 tours in Vietnam. Never complained and always proud he served. I promised him on his death bed, that I would not let VA care go private.
Military & Education
All voters have a right to know what their taxes are being used for.

Campaign website

Brannon’s campaign website stated the following:

WHAT I'LL FIGHT FOR

  • Veterans will be a priority

I ran last time because Cole and the Koch Brothers (Brother now, one died), want to make the VA private which will close all the VA Hospitals. Privatization makes the price go up and the quality go down. Just look at base housing at Tinker. Since going private, residence cannot get anything fixed, they are on a never-ending waiting list, mold is being painted over making kids sick, plus tiles have been disturbed and there is asbestos dust in the air. This company gave huge amounts to the Republican party. They have contracts for 55 more bases.

I never thought I would run for office, and honestly if Obama were still president, or Hillary would have won, I probably would not be running. Last year I said I have a Marine Corps brother in a wheelchair, 100% disabled from 2 tours in Vietnam, my hero. Now I say, I had a brother, because he died in January. Sitting by his hospital bed, I promised him, I would continue this fight.

  • Return the tax cuts where they were-Stop Cutting Social Security and Medicare

I follow the Democratic platform as my own. Return the tax cuts to where they were. Make the richest 2 percent pay their fair share. The US posted many billions in deficit last month, the biggest one-month deficit in history. (Businessinsider.com.) Our kids, their kids, their kids will pay it back, not fair to them. It helped Wall street more than Main street. Just as Economists predicted, no trickle down, companies stay where cheap labor is and very few have moved back, including Ivanka’ Trump. It was pocketed for record profits, and balloons the deficit. Trump promised he “would not cut Social Security or Medicare. The next day, the 2021 budget was posted with cuts to Social Security 30 billion, and cuts to Medicare 850 Billion. Yet, nothing said about taking the tax cuts away from their donors. 2 senators want to make the deficit an emergency, that will have different rules.

  • Affordable Health Care

Every Republican voted against HR 3, Lower the Drug Costs Now Act. When I asked Tom Cole at his most recent Town Hall why, he did not have a good answer. He voted Medicare cannot negotiate lower prices. Elderly Oklahomans must decide lifesaving medicine or groceries. Insulin is so expensive some just die because they cannot afford it. Big Pharma has the most lobbyist in Washington,3 per elected official. Elderly folks going hungry and people dying is not my America. Both Big Pharma and Big Insurance are having record profits, while costs of Insurance Premiums skyrocket and lifesaving medicines are out of reach. [2]

My name is Mary Brannon, retired school counselor, I want to unseat current incumbent (22 years) Republican Tom Cole, Oklahoma CD 4.

1. Stop cuts to Social Security (also keep it from going private) and Medicare. Republicans want to make both programs private. They are an earned benefit, our money, deducted from our paychecks for over 40 years, collecting interest, Not GOING BANKRUPT. Once it goes private, it will fail, and no elected official can help. 2. Reverse Tax cuts for the richest 2%, no longer paying their FAIR share. Republicans want the average voter to pay for the deficit these cuts caused. 3. Affordable Insulin. Medicare can negotiate cheaper drugs. Some seniors must choose medicine or food. Single payer insurance 4. Honoring Veterans- Republicans want to make the VA private, closing all the VA hospitals. I had a brother 100% disabled from two tours in Vietnam, and we needed that hospital. Rollback funding cuts and restore benefits. We need to treat our military like HEROES. Republicans have money from Special Interest groups like Big Pharma, and vote their way. I will vote PEOPLE over party. I will protect all Human Rights. We must have change, and soon.

  • Stop Social Security and Medicare Cuts. Prevent these programs from going private. This is our earned benefit, it is our money, we had it deducted from our paychecks for over 40 years. It is not going bankrupt.
  • Reverse the tax cuts for the rich, no longer paying their fair share. Republicans want to use our earned benefit, Social Security, to pay the shortfall.
  • Honoring our Veterans- I will keep the VA from going private. It will close all the VA hospitals. Rollback funding cuts and restore benefits. We need to treat our military like HEROES.
Social Security- I do not want it to go private, because it will fail, like every other government program, As long as it stays where it is, somewhere some elected official wants to keep his/her job,, and will listen to complaints.
Base housing at TINKER AFB in Oklahoma went private. Now the company is not doing what it said and wait lists to get repairs can take months. They are painting over mold and have disturbed Asbestos tiles, releasing toxic Asbestos dust in the air. Children are getting sick. This company has contracts for 55 other bases and posts.

Medicare needs to be able to negotiate cheaper drug prices. Some seniors must choose medicine or food. I will make Insulin affordable. In my America, you do not die because you cannot afford Insulin. Big Pharma is having record profits and Big insurance is charging more for premiums and covering less. Insurance companies will not cover pre-existing conditions. Insurance will go to "SINGLE PAYER", which every voter wants.

I will reverse the tax cuts for the rich no longer paying their Fair share!

I

My parents are wonderful examples to follow. They were smart, kind, hardworking and always available to help if I had a problem or just a question. They are both in Heaven, and I miss them every day. I also admired Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She did a lot for women rights.
Honest, ethical, caring, compassion, willing to be "aggressive" when it is for the good of the people. Willing to learn, and be informed about issues.
I am a retired school counselor. I feel this has given me the tools to communicate well and have understanding and compassion.
The core responsibilities are to try and do what the voters elected me to do. Not sell my vote to Special Interests like Big Pharma, keeping Insulin unaffordable. In MY AMERICA, YOU DO NOT DIE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT AFFORD LIFESAVING MEDICINES!
I left the office better than when I started.
I was living in Pampa, Texas when JFK was shot in Dallas. I was in the 7th grade, and remember my History teacher coming in and telling us. She was a young woman, and I remember the tears streaming down her cheeks..
My first job was selling tickets at the local theater, waitress, and teacher. I was the middle of 5 children, mom was a teacher, and dad ran the projector at the theater, and was the custodian. Best childhood a person could ask for, parents were hard workers, ethical, kind and excellent mentors.
I went to see the movie "Elvis" and he sang "Unchained Melody."
My older brother being in a wheelchair, and dying a slow painful death, being eaten alive by Agent Orange. He was 100% disabled, from 2 tours in Vietnam, never complained and always proud he served. He will always be my favorite "Marine." I made a promise sitting beside him in the hospital, right before he died, I would keep the fight to keep the VA from going private and closing all the VA hospitals.
The House Of Representatives is unique because of it's direct representation. Unlike the senate with 2 ,elected officials per state, the House is based on population and can have many elected officials. I think it is a good idea to have the term for only 2 years, because voters can make changes if they are not happy.
I think a person must start somewhere; everyone has a "first day" at a job. What I have noticed, is some elected officials in Washington have been there too long. They get lazy and complacent. This is one of the reasons I am for term limits. I worry they are influenced by lobbyist.
After Jan. 6, we need to protect democracy. We need to protect the people, and the environment. Our children need drinkable water and breathable air.
I would like to work on Veterans issues, and since I am a retired teacher, Education.
I feel all elected officials should have term limits.
My own story is what motivated me to run. My older brother was a Marine, became 100% disabled from 2 tours in Vietnam. He died a slow painful death, eaten alive by Agent Orange, confined to a wheelchair, but never complained and always proud he served. Republicans want to make VA care private which will close all the VA Hospitals. I have spoken at many Veteran events, and none want this to happen. Everyone knows once a government agency goes private, the costs go up and the quality comes down. Base housing at Tinker AFB, in Oklahoma went private and now they have forever wait lists for repairs, paint over mold making children sick, and disturbed Asbestos tiles making the breathable air poisonous. This company has contracts for 55 more bases. Since it is "private" now, no elected official has to worry about keeping their voters happy to get elected again.
My younger brother got Oral Cancer from Burn Pits. He began the treatment as a healthy 6'4' man. Within 3 months he had lost 30 pounds,, because nothing could enter through his mouth. All his food had to be poured into a tube sticking out of his stomach, going directly into his system. Again, like my older brother, never complained always proud he served. He would say, I am one of the lucky ones, some lose their tongue and cannot read to their grandkids. If not for actor Jon Stewart bringing national attention to the problem, Republicans would have stopped the bill from being passed. Sen. Lankford still voted against it. We need to treat our Veterans like the HEROES they are.
My grandson told me this joke.

What did the hotdog say when he crossed the finish line at the race?

I am a WEINER:-)
I want to protect Social Security and Medicare, and not have them go private. I also do not want the VA to go private. Once these programs are privatized, and they fail, voters are stuck. As long as an elected official is involved, you have a better chance of getting heard. Most want to please voters, unlike a company that does not care.
