Mary DeBoer is a judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals 4th District. She assumed office on October 15, 2024. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.
Governor Eric Holcomb (R) appointed DeBoer to the Indiana Court of Appeals on September 15, 2024, to replace Patricia A. Riley.
She was appointed to the Porter County Circuit Court on November 13, 2019, by Gov. Eric Holcomb (R) to replace Mary R. Harper. DeBoer was retained in the Indiana General Election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Education
DeBoer earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and political science at Western Michigan University. She earned her law degree at Valparaiso University Law School.[1]
Career
DeBoer previously served as a Magistrate of the Porter County Superior Court.[2] Prior to that, she practiced as a Deputy Prosecutor for thirteen years. She has served on various court-related committees, including: Community Corrections Board, Community Relations Committee, Drug Court and Juvenile Services Foundation, Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative, Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, and the Mayor’s Commission on Domestic Violence and Abuse.[1]
Community Involvement
DeBoer has been a member of Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis. She has also been involved with Women United and the Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation.[1]
