Mary Doyle was a judge for the 3rd County Court Judicial District and a presiding judge for the 2nd County Court Judicial District in Nebraska. She retired on March 31, 2013.[1]

Education

Doyle received her B.S. in 1971 and her M.A. in 1973 from the University of Nebraska -Licoln. She received her J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1975.[2]

Career

Before becoming a judge, Doyle worked as a Deputy Attorney for the Lancaster County Attorney’s office from 1980 to 1990, focusing on sexual assault and child sex abuse cases. From 1976 to 1980 she worked at the Nebraska Department of Revenue and the Nebraska State Department of Education.[2]

2012 election

Doyle was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 76.85% of the vote.[3][4]

2012 judicial performance evaluation

Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.
