I'm a Phoenix native, mom, and proud alumni of Phoenix public schools and Arizona State University. My professional experience in advertising account management, 14 years of service as a classroom volunteer, board leadership in PTAs and community-based organizations, and two years of substitute teaching will serve me well as a school board member. I have a proven track record of working in collaboration with families, teachers, and administrators to support student learning and academic growth in public schools. I listen. I make thoughtful decisions. I understand the impact those decisions have on students, families, teachers, and staff. I am committed to the continued success of our Scottsdale schools and providing the best education possible for every child in our community. The Scottsdale Education Association has recommended me as a candidate for Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board. It is an honor to have the support of our teachers. I was named a Public School Proud candidate by Save Our Schools Arizona and endorsed by Arizona List. I also received the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction for my commitment to govern with gun safety and gun violence prevention in mind. I will strive to cultivate a safe, inclusive environment to ensure all students, staff, and community members feel valued, respected, seen, and heard. I hope I have earned your vote. Together, we will build upon the legacy of our Scottsdale public schools!
  • Restore Trust and Foster Respect - Public education is a community partnership between schools and the families they serve. I will work to restore trust and foster a more respectful environment within our district. Our students deserve no less.
  • Advance Educational Equity - I see possibility in every child. I believe in setting the bar high and providing the proper resources for all students to achieve their highest potential. I will work to ensure every student in the district has what they need to be successful.
  • Invest in our #1 resource: Teachers - The key to improving students' academic performance lies in attracting and retaining highly-effective, certified teachers. I will value and respect our staff, giving them every support possible so they may deliver the quality education every student in our district deserves.
I'd like our state lawmakers to be champions of public education, and provide adequate investment in our public schools. I would like the state to fund pre-K programs for children in low-income households and restore full day kindergarten funding. I am adamantly opposed to the universal expansion of the private school voucher program, in that it takes funding away from our public schools.
