Mary J. Greenwood is a judge of the California 6th District Court of Appeal. She assumed office in 2018. Her current term ends on January 8, 2035.
Greenwood ran for re-election for judge of the California 6th District Court of Appeal. She won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Greenwood was appointed to the sixth court of appeal in December 2017 by Gov. Jerry Brown (D) to replace Miguel Márquez. She was confirmed on January 25, 2018. On April 17, 2018, she was confirmed as the court's presiding judge. She replaced Conrad Rushing as the presiding judge.
Greenwood previously was a judge on the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. She was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in May 2012 to succeed Alfonso Fernandez.[1] She was re-elected in 2014.[2]
Education
Greenwood received her undergraduate degree from Grinnell College and J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.[3]
