For the past 6 years I have worked 3rd shift at H-E-B. In my free time I enjoy literature and playing guitar. I began HRT in August 2018 and found courage in myself.
I am passionate about rural America. Having grown up here and I watched it struggle under the politicians that say they care for it. I want to invest in rural communities and bring new opportunities to the area. Including better access to healthcare, especially for
veterans.
I look up to Charlie Wilson because he thought to "take care of the home folks". He championed for individual's rights. He voted pro-choice and fought against voter discrimination against African Americans. This are things I believe to be right.
The Theory of Moral Sentiments by Adam Smith

Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals by Kant
My very first job was working at a blueberry processing plant in high school. I worked there for 2 years.
A struggle in my life was accepting who I was. I struggled for a while coming to terms thar I am transgender.
It is beneficial but not necessary for representatives to have had previous experience in government. I feel it is important for new ideas and perspectives to be introduced.
Yes I believe that two years is the right term length.
My thoughts on term limits for members of congress include limits for the majority and minority leaders.

Campaign website

Woods' campaign website stated the following:

Rural America

We are a different part of the state but we are no less sophisticated or important than our sister cities. Here's what I will do to keep us on their radars.

RURAL AMERICA

Invest In Jobs for Rural America

It’s not enough to tell people there’s a job waiting for them in the green economy. These jobs need to be accessible where they are, and they need to pay what the mining jobs paid.

Healthcare for Rural America

With the investment of high-speed internet coming to rural America, healthcare services are going to grow and become more easily accessible to everyone.

Veterans in Rural America

Over 40 percent of military veterans live in rural America. Investing in better access to veteran mental health services and accessible healthcare are essential to fulfilling our end of the contract.

Broadband for Rural America

We can rally all day long, but security will not come to rural America until broadband is built. Investing in the cables, satellites, and receivers cited in the Build Back Better act is an absolute necessity to the future of rural Texas.

Preserving Democracy

With leaders selling out to donors, unethical redistricting maps, and sophisticated voter suppression on the rise, our democracy is entering emergency mode. It's now or never.

VOTER RIGHTS

Expand Voter Access

Voting is a fundamental right in our democracy and, regardless of differences, everyone should easily be able to cast a vote.

Voter Protection

Areas with a history of voter suppression must obtain federal pre-clearance to ensure free and fair elections.

Gender Equality

From assault backlogs, LGBTQ rights, and equal pay and employment opportunities, we have a lot of t's to cross on gender equality.

GENDER EQUALITY

Updating Our Laws

To include nonbinary and gender-nonconforming identities.

To ensure protections for nonbinary and gender-nonconforming identities.

Violence Against Women Act

Extend to domestic partners, including LGBTQ.

Economic Empowerment For Families

Pre-K and tax credit for families. Living wages for everyone to provide for themselves and their family.

Reproductive Rights

Reproductive rights rest on the recognition of the basic right of all couples and individuals to decide freely and responsibly the number, spacing, and timing of their children. This includes having the information and means to do so. It is the right of all people to make decisions concerning reproduction, free of discrimination, coercion, and violence.[1]
