I’ve been a doctor for 25 years. I fight daily with insurance companies to get my patients what they need. Iowans deserve affordable and accessible healthcare.

In the course of my career, I’ve taught people ranging from school-age children to post-graduate medical doctors. Iowa’s teachers, students and parents deserve support and sufficient investment to create a great public educational system.

My parents and I pulled ourselves up by our bootstraps from working-class to the middle-class.We know how hard it is for those working for a living. We Iowans deserve fair wages for our hard work.
  • Inflation is rampant and I want wages to match it and for us to build products in our state and increase our infrastructure for tomorrow's jobs as well.
  • Housing debt and student-loan debt and medical debt abound, I want to make public education and healthcare affordable and accessible for Iowans.
  • Key to keeping wages high and debt low is strategies that grow the economy responsibly, taking families and communities and their needs in mind as we grow.
I believe Iowa is ready for the future with hardworking citizens who want a fair shake. Their families would remain here an make our economy a thriving one if education, technical jobs and adequate childcare existed. Instead, we have politicians giving federal money back to individuals as a tax break that will not help improve the state's infrastructure and its care of citizens. We need to ease worker shortages by increasing pay to match changes in inflation. I also favor legislation that would cap insulin costs and allow Medicare and Medicaid to negotiate drug prices. With better coverage and drug and premium costs lower, we can have the freedom to explore new jobs, new businesses and new opportunities. These opportunities, and the locally-grown businesses will ensure our future together.
