Mary Lauve Doggett is a judge of the 9th Judicial District, Division C in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. She was elected to that position on October 4, 2008, to replace retired Judge F. Rae Swent.[1][2][3] She was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[4][5]
Doggett's father, Lewis "Buddy" Lauve, is a former 9th Judicial District judge.

Doggett defeated Greg Beard, Mike Hislop and Thomas "Rocky" Willson for the 9th Judicial District, receiving 29.69% of the vote.[1]
Education
Doggett received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Louisiana State University and her J.D. in 1988 from the Louisiana State University Law Center.[2][6]
Career
Doggett worked as an attorney for 20 years prior to her judicial election in 2008. For 18 of those years, she practiced civil law in Rapides Parish. She was with the firm of Bussey & Lauve, LLC.[2][7]
Approach to the law
Doggett stated during her campaign, "My platform is simple. I believe in working hard and being fair, honest and impartial. I believe that every single person who comes to court deserves the same time, same energy, same attention and same respect from the judge."[2]
