Mary Lou Robinson was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. She joined the court in 1979 after being nominated by President Jimmy Carter. Robinson died on January 26, 2019, at the age of 92.[1]

Early life and education

A native of Dodge City, Kansas, Robinson graduated from the University of Texas with her bachelor's degree in 1948 and from the University of Texas School of Law with her LL.B. in 1950.[2]

Judicial career

Robinson was nominated by President Jimmy Carter (D) on February 23, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629. Robinson was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 24, 1979, and she received her commission on April 26, 1979. She elected to take senior status beginning on February 3, 2016. She served as a senior status judge until her death in January 2019.[2]
