Mary Margaret Rowlands is a judge on the Summit County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Akron, Ohio. She was first elected to the court in November 2008 for a full six-year term.[1][2][3] Rowlands ran for re-election to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas General Division in 2014, winning a new term that expired on January 5, 2021.[4]

General: She defeated Beth Whitmore in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 54.1 percent of the vote. [5][6] 

Education

Rowlands received her undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University and her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law.[1]

Career

Before joining the court, Rowlands was a partner at her law firm of Whitaker and Rowlands Co., LPA in Akron, Ohio, with a focus on civil and criminal law. She has also served as the chief legal counsel for the Summit County Fiscal Office in 2005.[1]
