Mary Miles Teachout

Mary Miles Teachout was the presiding judge for the superior court in Washington County, Vermont. She also served as judge on the Caledonia County superior court (civil, criminal and family divisions) and the Windsor County superior court (civil division). Teachout became a judge in 1992. On March 19, 2015, she was re-appointed to a six-year term by a joint assembly of the Vermont General Assembly.[1][2][3][4][5] Teachout retired from the court on February 1, 2022.
Education
Teachout earned a B.A. from Harvard and Radcliffe colleges. She attended the University of Washington Law School and Harvard Law School, receiving a J.D. from the University of Washington in 1975. She was a member of the Washington Law Review and the Order of the Coif Honorary Society.[4]

Teachout took a six-month sabbatical from the court in 2010.[4][6]
