Mary Mosiman is an officeholder of the Iowa Director Department of Revenue.

Mosiman (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Iowa Auditor of State. She lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.

She was first appointed by Gov. Terry Branstad (R) to fill the seat vacated by former auditor David Vaudt effective May 2013.[1] Her appointment ran through December 2014, when Vaudt's term was scheduled to end, and she ran for full term as auditor in the 2014 elections. Mosiman was uncontested in the June 3 Republican primary and faced Democrat Jon Neiderbach in the general election.[1] Mary Mosiman won the general election on November 4, 2014.

Mosiman, a CPA, is the first woman to hold the auditor's office in Iowa history.

Biography

Mosiman holds a degree in accounting from Iowa State University and is a member of the Iowa Society of CPAs. She served as the auditor and commissioner of elections for Story County from 2001 until 2010, when she was appointed state deputy chief of elections under secretary of state Matt Schultz.[2]

Mosiman was appointed Iowa Auditor of State on May 13, 2013, to fill the vacancy left by previous auditor David Vaudt's resignation on May 3, 2013. Mosiman was appointed by Gov. Terry Branstad to serve the remainder of Vaudt's term, which began after his re-election on November 2, 2010. Until her appointment as state auditor, Mosiman had served as deputy Iowa Secretary of State under secretary Matt Schultz (R).[2]

Mosiman ran for election to a full term as auditor in the 2014 elections.[1] She was uncontested for the Republican nomination in the June 3 primary and faced Democrat Jon Neiderbach in the general election on November 4, 2014.

2013

Mosiman was appointed State Auditor by Governor Terry Branstad on May 3, 2013. She succeeded David Vaudt, who was re-elected in 2010 and resigned on May 3, 2013, well in advance of his term's scheduled expiration.
