Mary S. DuFresne is a former Fourth Judicial District judge for Hennepin County, Minnesota. She was elected to this position in 1996 and was re-elected in 2002 and 2008. After retiring on March 4, 2014, DuFresne was appointed to be a statewide senior judge. Her term expired on June 30, 2017.[1]

Education

DuFresne received her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1967 and her J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in 1979.[1]

Career

DuFresne began her legal career in 1979 as an assistant state public defender. In 1983, she left this position to become an attorney with the firm of Bassford, Lockhart, Truesdell & Briggs, P.A. She worked in this capacity until she was elected to the district court in 1996.[1]
