Mary Wilder
Mary Wilder was a 2015 candidate for District 5 of the Memphis City Council in Tennessee. The general election took place on October 8, 2015.
Biography
Wilder earned a B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) in education, history and social work from Western Michigan University in 1974. She went on to receive a master's degree in applied liberal arts, with an emphasis on urban history and planning, from the University of Memphis in 2014.
Wilder is a retired program and service administrator with experience in project planning, development, and fiscal and operation oversight. She worked from 2000 to 2010 as a manager of the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association's Handyman Program.[1][2]

The city of Memphis, Tennessee, held elections for mayor and city council on October 8, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 17, 2015.[5] In the District 5 race, Jimmie Franklin, John Marek, Worth Morgan, Charles Pickard, Dan Springer, Mary Wilder and Jennifer James Williams faced off in the general election on October 8, 2015. Incumbent Jim Strickland did not run for re-election.[6] A runoff between Morgan and Springer took place on November 19, 2015.[7]
