The Maryland Abolish Forty-fifth Article Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was voted on by the Maryland General Assembly in 1809, where it was approved. The measure abolished the forty-fifth article of the Constitution.

Election results

Prior to 1864, amendments to the Maryland Constitution were decided by the general assembly, rather than by voters. The 1776 Constitution required that an act to amend the constitution, after being passed in one session, had to then be confirmed by an act at the following session of the general assembly.
