The Maryland Amend Provision for Imprisonment for Debt Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the November 6, 1962 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure amended the provision concerning imprisonment for debt to provide that support of an illegitimate child or children shall not constitute a debt within the meaning of the imprisonment for debt section.[1][2]
