The Maryland Governor Succession Amendment, also known as Amendment 4, was on the November 2, 1948 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure prohibited a governor who served two consecutive terms from succeeding himself for the term immediately following the second term.[1][2]
