Maryland Judicial Powers and Duties, Question 2 (1970)

The Maryland Judicial Powers and Duties Amendment, also known as Question 2, was on the November 3, 1970 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided powers of the commission on judicial disabilities, created a system of District Courts and provided for the appointment and confirmation of judges in those courts. The measure also provided for the jurisdiction, powers, duties and operations of the District Courts and abolished certain other courts and judicial officers superseded by the District Courts.[1]
