The Maryland Montgomery County Land Acquisition Amendment, also known as Question 16, was on the November 7, 1972 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided an optional procedure for acquisition of lands in Montgomery County by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission for the construction and extension of water supply, sewerage and drainage systems.[1]
