The Maryland Public Officer Compensation Amendment, also known as Question 12, was on the November 2, 1976 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided that the compensation of a public officer whose term is fixed by law exceeds eight years may be increased or diminished.[1]
