Maryland Secretary of State Salary, Amendment 6 (1954)

The Maryland Secretary of State Salary Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the November 2, 1954 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure allowed the salary of the Secretary of State to be fixed by the general assembly. The measure also no longer required the person holding the office of Secretary of State to reside at the seat of government.[1][2]
