Maryland Senate Bill 445 was introduced by Maryland Senator Richard Madaleno (D-Montgomery County) on February 3, 2009, but died in the legislature. The bill was set to be heard on February 26, 2009 but the hearing was canceled on February 13, 2009.[1]

Provisions

SB 445 would have required all petition circulators to look at a "current and valid photo ID that includes Date of Birth" for any potential signer, before letting that person sign the petition. It also would have required the signers to show their ID to the circulator.[2]
