The Maryland Somerset County Election Districts Commission Amendment, also known as Amendment 3, was voted on by the Maryland General Assembly in 1831, where it was approved. The measure created a commission to create several additional election districts in Somerset County. The measure also indicated new elections locations and provided the commissioners with a daily salary of $2.[1]

Election results

Prior to 1864, amendments to the Maryland Constitution were decided by the general assembly, rather than by voters. The 1776 Constitution required that an act to amend the constitution, after being passed in one session, had to then be confirmed by an act at the following session of the general assembly.[2]
