Advocacy and public service have long been part of me, as an experienced business attorney, nonprofit leader, and military spouse. I have led well-respected organizations benefiting military families and veterans. As a university trustee, I am involved in strategic planning and financial oversight. I also have devoted significant time volunteering in my community and my daughters’ school.

Among my many reasons for running for office is my frustration with the impact that the pandemic had on working families and especially women leaving the workforce. I will work to continue to expand paid family and medical leave, recently passed this last session.

I care deeply about ensuring that every child has a chance to learn and thrive in a safe environment, and I will work to ensure that our schools have the resources they need. In fact, I have been very proud to have been endorsed by the Maryland State Education Association.

With respect to the environment, I believe that climate change is an existential threat, and I support the recently passed Climate Solutions Now Act, which aims to reduce greenhouse gasses by 60% by 2030 and to reach net-zero emissions by 2045. In addition, protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed is an important concern, and I support measures to stem harmful stormwater runoff and to hold polluters accountable. Additionally, public safety is a top concern in my district, and I support measures to urgently address crime, including getting much-needed resources for our first responders.
