The Maryland Submission of the Budget Amendment, also known as Amendment 4, was on the November 6, 1956 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure required the governor to submit the budget to the general assembly within twenty days after its convening in odd numbered years.[1][2]
