The Maryland Tax for State Debt Amendment, also known as Question 9, was on the November 7, 1972 ballot in Maryland as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure provided that the annual tax to be collected to pay the state debt shall not be collected if sufficient funds are appropriated for such purpose in the state budget.[1]
