Maryland candidates from three contested primaries ready for November: State executive primary review

Annapolis, Maryland: The Democratic primary for Governor of Maryland did not stray from polling results as current lieutenant governor Anthony Brown was deemed the winner quickly after the polls closed on June 24, 2014. The lone contested Republican state executive race of the night, also for Governor, was called for Larry Hogan. The last contested primary, finding the Democratic candidate for attorney general, put Brian Frosh on the November 4th ballot. See more details on the races below.
Maryland Governor and Lieutenant Governor
The associated press was quick to call the Democratic primary for current Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, Anthony Brown. The Republican primary took a little longer before Larry Hogan was deemed the winner over runner-up David Craig. Anthony Brown, and his running mate, Ken Ulman, will face Hogan and his running mate, Boyd Rutherford, in the general election along with Libertarian duo Shawn Quinn and Lorenzo Gaztanaga.

In the closest race of the night, Brian Frosh came out ahead as the winner of the contested Democratic primary. Frosh will face Republican Jeffrey Pritzker, who was uncontested in the primary, along with Libertarian Leo Wayne Dymowski.
